Packing Something French

Bonjour, my stylish trailblazers!

Travel has always been a source of inspiration, rejuvenation, and adventure for me. And with my ever-hectic schedule as a mom, entrepreneur, and of course, your favorite fashion blogger, my European getaways have become even more rare and precious.

As the late summer sun casts golden hues over the picturesque vineyards of France, here I am, facing the delightful challenge of packing for Burgundy, Champagne, and the eternal city of Paris. With the maddening state of travel luggage these days and my upcoming European train odyssey, traveling light isn't just a choice—it's a necessity.

Given the sheer volume of essential pieces I need to bring, I've chosen to pack in a full size hard case Tumi check in suitcase, a Tumi Voyageur shoulder bag, and a cabin size Rimowa. It's vital for me to carry on these pieces as some are quite important, and my bag would be too heavy without the additional roller.

The mission? To gracefully fit roughly 20 unique looks into my luggage ensemble. Daunting? Perhaps. But for a seasoned packer, it's just another day at the office. Let's break down my approach.

Efficiency Meets Elegance

My packing secret? Versatility and prioritization. Outfits that could easily transition from day to night were a must. Think slip dresses that can be paired with sandals or sneakers for a vineyard tour and then easily dressed up with a sleek jacket and heels for a Parisian dinner. The key is in the layers and accessories. A statement belt, a chic scarf, or a pair of Celine sunglasses can magically transform an outfit.

And here’s a game-changer: two of my Airbnbs in this trip offer laundry equipment. This means I could afford to pack fewer items and give them a quick refresh mid-trip. With about 20 outfits in my luggage, mixing and matching is becoming a delightful challenge I wholeheartedly embraced.

Tiny Details Make a Huge Difference

Now, let’s get down to the nitty-gritty. My choice of luggage played an essential role. I opted for a Tumi hard case check-in, a Tumi Voyageur shoulder bag, and a Rimowa cabin size roller. All three represent the pinnacle of stylish sturdiness and I am confident they will be my trusty companions throughout my train-hopping escapades. I got tips from some pros on these bags!

But, of course, fashion is only one side of the coin. Health and wellness are non-negotiables, even on a sabbatical. So, I made sure to pack my supplements, ensuring I’m always at my best, no matter where I am.

Ready for Your Own Chic Escape?

Travelling with thought doesn’t mean compromising on style or essentials. With a little forethought and a penchant for versatility, you too can make the most of every trip. Embrace the simplicity, the challenge, and the sheer joy of packing smart.

To get you started, here’s a rundown of everything that made my journey memorable, right down to my indispensable supplements:

  • Essential layering pieces (Think blazers and versatile shoes)

  • Statement accessories (Belts, scarves, sunnies, and more)

The Packing Technique: My full-size Tumi is open, ready to accept the majority of my apparel. I'm employing packing cubes and rolling my clothes to optimize space and reduce wrinkles. The Tumi Voyageur is poised to house my accessories, supplements, shoes (bottom compartment), and personal essentials. The Rimowa, being cabin size, will safeguard the most vital pieces I want to keep close.

Don’t forget to pack your beauty routine in your handy luggage so you can do it before you fall asleep on the plane.

Remember, every trip is an opportunity to rediscover yourself. So, pack smart, travel with intention, and let the world be your runway.

Bon voyage… until my next update from the picturesque landscapes of France,

Candice
